Job Description:
The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies
(SHPRS) at Arizona State University invites applications for its
faculty associate pool for the 2025-26 academic year and summer
session (Session Instructor). Faculty Associates are one semester
appointments, with the potential to be renewed. They are part time,
non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications, not to exceed
.40 FTE (.50FTE during summer session). A typical Faculty Associate
course load is one to two classes per semester, either in-person or
online. Teaching duties include: preparing course materials,
responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for
one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus
classes and electronically for online classes). Individuals
employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits
eligible appointments at Arizona State University. About the School

qualifications : Master’s degree in History/Philosophy/Religious
Studies by time of appointment. Experience teaching undergraduate
History/Philosophy/Religious Studies courses in person and Online.
Desired qualification: PhD in History, Philosophy, or Religious
Studies. Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff,
students, and communities to advance the principles of the ASU
