Job Description:
Join our growing team as a Full-Time Building Engineer working
for one of the leading private data center owners and operators in
the United States. This opportunity will be based in Phoenix AZ We
will be onboarding someone with the safety of our employees in mind
and the willingness to support our members, contractors and
vendors. Flexible schedules are necessary for hire This is a
full-time opportunity with medical, dental, vision and 401k
benefits. Pay: $25-27/hr The Data Center Building Engineer provides
maintenance support for the Data Center facility in Phoenix, AZ.
Operates and maintains all mechanical and electrical systems in the
systems and complex. Assist outside vendors/contractors for
specialized maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects. Provides
critical support to facility with 12-hour shifts working a 4 day on
4 day off work week. Reports to Facility Manager. The Building
Engineer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of
infrastructure and equipment within our Phoenix AZ site, acting as
the contact for emergencies that affect data center operations.
Additionally, the Building Engineer will assess and consider daily
1) the safety of our employees, 2) the security of our assets and
3) the service to our members. This position will coordinate
outside contractors or vendors for various services.
Responsibilities: Acts as the primary shift contact for any
building issues (environment, spills, damage, emergencies and
repairs) Monitors contractor performance and works closely with
outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed
according to specifications May act as the project coordinator for
all size projects including large scale repair and new facility
construction projects Assists with maintaining building security
and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
Operates the primary cooling and electrical systems supporting the
data center Makes minor plumbing, lighting repairs, as necessary
Performs assigned preventive and corrective maintenance throughout
the facility Performs basic electrical work and determines when an
electrician is required Assists with shipping and receiving as
needed Transports goods or equipment as assigned Performs other
maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager Assists IT
team as needed for server installs and removals. Qualifications
Willing to work scheduled shifts in a 24/7 environment. Shifts can
consist of standard business hours and non-business hours 1-3 years
technical/mechanical experience in a production facility Ability to
read electrical one-line drawings Experience with electrical
systems, including tracing electrical circuits, loads and sources
Experience with mechanical systems operated by industrial controls
preferred Meet physical requirements, including walking
long-distances within the facility, working from ladders and
