Job Description Job Description Summary: Willowwood is seeking a
skilled Machinist to join our dynamic machine shop team. As a vital
member of our product development and production teams, you will
work closely with our lead machinist and engineering team to drive
innovation and excellence in machining processes. This is a first
shift position, Monday - Friday $20-30/hour overtime Full benefits
offered Essential Responsibilities: Implement G-code and set up
fixtures for production runs. Collaborate with the lead machinist
to optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling for efficient machining.
Install and configure tools and equipment according to job
requirements. Make adjustments to G-code as necessary to enhance
efficiency. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Perform production tasks across various areas as needed.
Participate in preventive maintenance of shop equipment. Other
duties as required. Essential Skills Required: 3-5 years of
hands-on experience with CNC lathes, mills, screw machines, and
metal fabrication tools, prior experience with machine setup
preferred. Proficiency in G-code programming. Ability to interpret
engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
accurately to ensure precise machining. Understanding of different
types of materials (e.g., various metals including titanium,
aluminum, stainless steel, and various plastics) and their
properties to select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
for machining. Familiarity with quality control processes and tools
such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring
Machine) to ensure finished parts meet specifications. Ability to
mentor and train junior machinists, providing guidance on best
practices, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols.
Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging
technologies, and machining techniques to improve efficiency and
quality in the machining process. Strong problem-solving skills in
product fabrication. Ability to work independently, multitask, and
collaborate effectively. Proficiency in using personal computers
for documentation. Effective communication skills to collaborate
with team members, engineers, and other departments, conveying
technical information and addressing any concerns or issues that
arise during production. Flexibility to adapt to changing
priorities, production schedules, and evolving project requirements
in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of
mechanical principles and machine operations to troubleshoot
equipment malfunctions and optimize machining processes. ABOUT
