The Stroke Coordinator Position Summary The Stroke Coordinator has clinical responsibilities and is a resource to staff, management, physicians, patients and other healthteam members regarding nursing care practice, with an emphasis in the area of acute stroke care. The major functions of the Clinical Effectiveness Coordinator are: (1) Professional consultation for Acute Strokes; (2) Drive Quality Clinical Outcomes; (3) Serve as a resource for patient education/staff development; and (4) Provide Program/administrative suport. The position will function at Phoenix Baptist Hospital and serve as a resource to facilities in the Abrazo Health Care Region involved in the treatment of Acute Stroke. SPECIAL SKILLS: Communications; Ability to present clinical information to a wide variety of audiences; Knowledge regarding program develoopment, inplementation, and evaluation; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are necessary; Familiarity with PC-based software for word processing, spreadsheet, database and statistics is required; Effectivness as a change agent and the ability to influence without direct accountability; Indepth understanding of proper data collection techniques and reporting methods for analyzing and utilizing data; Understanding good clinical guidelines principles. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Current clinical experience in Neurology and/or Neurosurgery; Demonstrated current knowledge of program development, adult learning theory; Strong communication skills and presentation abilities; Prior experience demonstrating the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and organize work, analize data; Must possess effective interpersonal and leadership skills PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Advanced Computer experience preferred REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Arizona State RN License; BCLS & ALCS Training; REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: NIHSS Certification; CNRN or attaining certification #LI-JD2Employment practices will not be influenced or affected by an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status or any other legally protected status.
