Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MS/Tele/PCU Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting. Comfortable managing titratable drips, including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. Description: Float pool will cover MedSurg, Tele, and PCU units. Inpatients holding in the ED may be included. Average census in East Campus is 20 patients. West Campus has 14 rooms, with a focus on stepdown care. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 in PCU and 1:5-6 in MedSurg/Tele. All staff members are expected to interpret cardiac strips. Monitor techs will be present in PCU and MedSurg Tele. Nurse aids will be utilized throughout. Shifts will be structured as 7-7 for AM and PM, scheduled by a designated scheduler. Travelers must be flexible with scheduling, which is published 6 weeks in advance. Weekend work is required every other weekend, with holiday assignments included in the permanent staff rotation. There are no call or standby requirements. Shift notifications will be sent 2 hours prior to start time. Professional solid color scrubs are required, transitioning to navy scrubs in alignment with guidelines in October.
