Registered Nurse (RN) | Neuro ICU Location: Phoenix, AZ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,176 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required License: BSN Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Level 1 Trauma experience - EVD experience - Strong neuro assessment skills - ICP monitoring experience Description: MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXPERIENCE. MUST HAVE EVD EXPERIENCE. Medical Solutions pre-screens, if clinical recommends, candidate is required to pass DYS exam prior to acceptance. Two attempts are allowed; if failed, applicant will not be considered for 6 months. Travel teams must have their own vehicles. Natural hair color is required, and no facial piercings are allowed. Men must be clean-shaven for the fit test. A pass/fail exam will occur on day one of orientation. All registered nurses will be expected to complete skills labs for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Nurses who understand sterile field will typically pass the skills labs. Candidates who indicate they lack competency in these areas may not be a good fit. In addition to skills labs, nurses will also go through educational training on lifts, restraints, and wound care. Every nurse is expected to be competent in these areas as they are frequently performed. The unit has a capacity of 32 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Charges are assigned to charge nurses who do not take patients. Nurses are expected to work during core staff rotations for holidays. Scrub color is any color or print that is non-offensive. Patients include anyone qualifying for critical care with a neurological diagnosis. Common procedures performed include craniotomies, brain tumor removals, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repairs. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is completed using the Cerner system.
