opportunity to make a difference. The Logistics Manager is
responsible for managing the daily operations and distribution of
products, as well as receiving of raw materials and components.
Essential_Job_Duties * Manages and coordinates the daily activities
related to warehouse operations, transportation, and distribution
of products. Manages the delivery of goods to company stockrooms
and distributors using the private fleet and/or common carriers. *
Manages receipt and warehousing of product, coordinating activities
with manufacturing and controlling inventory and product rotation.
* Manages receipt and storage of raw materials and components.
Monitors inspection of incoming items against orders for accuracy,
completeness, and defects. * Dispatches and facilitates shipments
and back-hauls; works with 3rd-party transportation consultants;
participates in carrier selection and negotiations; determines
back-haul pricing. Prepares route trips. * Inspects equipment and
facilities; schedules needed repair or service; works with
3rd-party fleet and warehouse maintenance contractor. *
Participates in budget development and monitoring. Prepares cost
analysis and performance evaluations; reviews and analyzes
variances; prepares and distributes reports. * Ensures established
costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. Responsive to
customers, investigating and resolving issues. * Participates
and/or leads department meetings and cross-functional performance
improvement committees. Participates on Vision Stream team. *
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and DOT regulations.
Performs audit of driver logs. Manages and leads safety campaign. *
Prepares reports for management; participates in projects as
assigned. * May perform other duties as required.
Scope_of_Responsibility_ * Independent; working under only general
instructions and expected to determine how to accomplish the work
assignments. * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems. * Extensive knowledge of
Inventory Control * Extensive knowledge of Cycle Counting * Must
have experience managing an offsite 3PL (3rd party logistics) *
Prefer knowledge of SAP Knowledge_and_Skill_Requirements * Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals,
synthesizing complex or diverse information. * Ability to respond
to common inquiries or complaints, varying writing style to meet
needs and or speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or
negative situations. Managing project team and communicating
changes and progress. * Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to exercise
discretion while managing confidential information. * Develops and
coordinates projects, project plans, and completing projects on
time and within budget. * Knowledgeable of Word Processing
software, Spreadsheet software, and Internet software.
Education_And_Experience * Bachelor's Degree from four-year college
or university; a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or
training; a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience; or
equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Physical_Demands_ * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move
up to 10 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision. * While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use
hands to finger, handle, or feel. * The employee is occasionally
required to stoop or kneel. The employee must be able to sit most
of the day, typing and using the phone. Work_Environment_ Office
environment; noise level is usually moderate. Travel_Required
Minimal travel may be required. To perform this job successfully,
an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
