As a BHT/BHC, you play a vital role in maintaining stability, supporting treatment goals, and helping youth develop the skills they need for long-term recovery. You value structure, teamwork, and consistency, and you are committed to providing supportive, respectful care to adolescents during all aspects of daily residential life. Position Overview The Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct supervision, therapeutic support, and daily structure to adolescent residents. This role focuses on safety, behavior monitoring, routine reinforcement, and maintaining a recovery-oriented residential environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and support to adolescent residents throughout daily routines Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment Observe, document, and report client behaviors, incidents, and progress accurately Assist residents with activities of daily living including hygiene, meals, and room upkeep Support emotional regulation, coping skills, and positive peer interactions Conduct drug screenings in accordance with program protocols Participate in therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming Monitor resident movement, attendance, and transitions within the facility Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams to support treatment goals Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the residence Participate in team meetings, trainings, and required documentation Perform additional duties as needed to support client care and program operations Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 6 months of experience in behavioral health (1–2 years preferred) High school diploma or GED required Must be at least 18 years of age Experience working with adolescents or in residential or care-based settings preferred Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Must pass required background checks Possess or be eligible for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Ready to Apply?
